Anyone yet receive notice of shipment for your free Vista upgrade?
-
nope, still says "POP/COA Validated"
-
Good to know, I thought I was the only one. I hope to see it before April.... hahahaha
-
I called the customer support and was told they would ship around Feb.15th depending on when you submitted the info. I submitted fairly early (Dec. 15) and hope to get it soon. We'll see.

Not Yet . -
I emailed them yesterday to see what was up with the status on my vista upgrade, here's their response (mind you, I sent the email to them on 2.7.7:
"Dear Customer,
Thank you for your interest in the Upgrade Redemption Program.
The Upgrade Software should begin shipping late January 2007. You will receive your Vista/Office software within 4-6 weeks from release date.
Regards,
The Upgrade Redemption Center
The Upgrade Software will ship within approximately"
That sure makes for a confident reply... -
-
OMG, where are the copies shipped from? Mars??? -
I think that's a very poor way of explaining that Vista shipped in late January, and that they'll get the Express Upgrades out 4-6 weeks later.
-
yeah, mine was the same, coa validated but blank on shipping date. i sent mine in on Jan.7. Emailed them yesterday and they sent me an email with no info about my question.
-
Hi, I need advice. I registered on the website to get my Windows Vista upgrade on Dec, but I have not received the confirmation page or number. Can some one please tell me were do I have to go to get that confirmation page? or what I have to do. I contacted them by email, but they are not helping me at all since they never answer my question.
-
I hope they ship sometime soon. Mine still says POP/COA validated.
-

Posted this in the HP Upgrade Link thread:
Well, at least the drivers will be smoothed out by then. (/sarcasm?)
Edit: Den beat me to it. -
Yea, mine says the same as Den's. Shipping "March 2007". I'll probably upgrade it later on to Vista Ultimate so it doesn't really mean anything to me but hey, they said they would give it to me for free.
Richard -
Yep.
The site now says mine will ship in March.
I sent in my POP/COA confirmations in early Dec. -
Mine says March 30, 2007. I sent my POP/COA in early December too. Probably within a day of the upgrade announcement signup. Oh well. I can wait it out I suppose.
-
i came here to ask this very question. thanks for all the feedback to this OP. i can't believe it won't be shipping til march. this all seems sloppy if you ask me. they've been dragging this on for so long.
and is this a first come first thing? i was under the impression i couldn't sign up until Vista was released. i am certain i read that somewhere. i would have signed up back in december when i first received my laptop if i knew it started that early. hope this doesn't delay it even longer. i'd like to get some use out of Vista before my computer is obsolete. haha -
I sent in my POP a few weeks ago and I have the same shipping in March thing. I think it doesn't matter when you sent it in. I think they are just sending them all at the same time.
-
Mine says it will ship on April 7th. I would have probably been able to get it sooner but I did not realize you had to send in the proof of purchase so I scanned it and emailed it and in less than 24 hours got an email saying that they had received the proof of purchase and I checked the order again and it said awaiting shipment and that it would be shipped on April 7th. So now just to wait some more for that April 7th date (or more likely a week or two after that).
-
24 hours? I've been waiting a month!
-
My status
Order Status : Order awaiting shipment
Shipping Date : March 31 2007
Carrier : Standard -
yeah, mine says April 1st. i would have sent my stuff in earlier but i thought i had to wait until Vista was released to the public, which was Jan 29. now i wonder if they meant when first released. period. i'm a little frustrated about all this since i could have waited a little longer to buy my laptop, which i just recently bought back in december. i could have waited til Jan 29 if i knew this was gonna be the issue. it's not like we're getting anything free here. i don't see why us express upgrade guys should have to wait. my laptop is still the same price with Vista on Costco. i thought the whole point of the express upgrade was because MS had delay Vista again and the major computer manufacturers didn't want sales to lag because of this.
ahhhhh. just frustrating is all. -
Hey guys... You know when you go on the HP website to order vista and you select the vista you can order with the "upgrade"
Why is there a quantity drop-down menu?
Could I order more than one and only pay the shipping?
Or if I have a desktop PC with Windows XP professional, can I just order 2 and instal em both?
/confused -
You could order two,
But unless you have 2 COA and 2 proof of purchase - they will be denied -
Mine is less specific:
Order Status : Order awaiting shipment
Shipping Date : TBD. Check back in 2-3 weeks for more information
Carrier : Standard
-
Mine shipped today - should arrive in 1 week.
The Vista Upgrade CD will then go into the file cabinet til most of the ridiculous bugs get resolved -- if ever. -
I pesonally spoke with a rep. from upgrade redemption center about a month ago, and she said that the upgrades will be shipped out the end of march. First come first served. And to expect delivery around the end of april. Also make sure to e-mail or fax the proof of purchase with order number written on it. This is the what they gave me as an e-mail adress [email protected].
-
Received an email from MODUSLINK yesterday, which told me to expect my upgrade in one weeks time.
But i don't care really when it arrives, as i have no intention of upgrading anytime soon. Not until i have upgraded my RAM to 2GBs from the existing 1GB. -
Same here, mine has been shipped.
-
My Free Vista Upgrade Kit arrived in the mail today and consisted of the following:
- "Windows Vista Home Premium Express Upgrade" CD-ROM
- "HP Upgrade Utility for Windows Vista" CD-ROM (you install this first before the actual Vista Upgrade CD)
- Written set of installation instructions
- A $500 check from HP, in case I want to have Vista professionally installed.
Overall, it was a painless effort, though it took about 4 months from initial submission to receipt of the upgrade kit.
I've already safely stored it in my file cabinet for the foreseeable future. -
got mine today. WTS Vista Basic Upgrade ~
-
I am waiting for my upgrade kit (will be shipped in first week of april according to the email i rec. unless they r fooling me).
I would like to know whether the upgarde kit also consisted of the coa sticker to be pasted under the laptop.
Can you please post the image of the upgrade kit. -
Yes it does come with the new COA/key to attach to laptop
dont have pic of the package but all it was was a piece of paper with simple instructions
2 paper sleeves with dvd of the hp upgrade stuff and the other with vista on it
