I just noticed today that on 11/22 Vista's Windows Update found a new, optional update called: Ricoh - Other Hardware - HP Pavilion Webcam

Anyone knows if this fixes any of the "quirks" that come with the built in webcams?

    Details:
    Download size: 562 KB
You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

I haven't had any problems with my webcam... but some people have had issues where the webcam works only every once in a while.

Downloading and checking it would be cool I think. :) You will be able to confirm it for your self. I think I have seen HP Web Cam update on my Laptop's drivers page present on HP, it must be same as the one you have mentioned.

The acer crystal eye drivers hasnt failed me so far and still at 100% functionality. Why bother downloading new drivers other than performance updates?

Only update it if its broken. If its working dont bother.. new drivers could possibly just break it

My webcam is already working --kind of -- it still is rather buggy. So I wondered if anyone had any success with this before I attempt. Don't want to make matters worse.

My latest issue is I can record a video (right speed too), but the only the first ~15 second is saved.
