For some reason on my new hp dv6500t (with the 802.11g+n+bluetooth network adapter), when I try to transfer large files/videos from network shares of my other vista desktop, it runs very slow (less than 100KB/sec) even though I am connected at 54mbit and sitting next to the Linksys WRT54G Router. My older (slower) laptop would transfer these files in seconds while the new laptop is taking 30+ minutes. Anyone else having these troubles?

I have the same network card, but my problem is when downloading larger files, the connection will just freeze and so will my download. As a result, the download never completes and it really annoys me.
As for your situation, did you try to get closer to your router? Because I noticed the speeds increased dramatically when I got closer to my DLink DGL-4300 Gaming Router. -
its a vista bug , network shares are slow to copy from. Suks!

Yah i got right next to my router. waverider969, a vista bug? Microsoft has no solution or cause?

They do have a "fix" for it, but you either have to call there tech support for it. or wait untill SP1 is released.. for some reason they are not releasing it stand alone for all to Download..

On all vista pc's no matter what make or setting it is slow. I think it is a problem with Vista -
It seems to be ok on my vista desktop-desktop wired-wired network transfers.

I got the fix pathch a while ago through some link on web I found. I applied it and it made little difference if that.
