    Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone has installed Windows Vista 32-bit on their HP dv5215us laptop?

I have installed the 32-bit Home Premium version and am having nothing but trouble.

I updated to the F.53 BIOS prior to installation and have downloaded all the drivers from HP's site under the Vista category.

When I loaded Windows for the first time, I was missing drivers for the Conexant Audio device, the Broadcom Wireless Adapter, the Realtek NIC, and a "Mass storage device".

So I install the drivers downloaded from HP's website and restart. Everything goes smoothly, except for the "mass storage device". Although, that's the least of my problems.

Later my computer goes on standby (or sleep...i don't know which), and when I wake it, the Broadcom and Realtek drivers have yellow exclamation points and the devices fail to work. So I restart the computer and here is what my BIOS greets me with:

Press <F1> to resume, <F10> to Setup
    ---------------------------------------------------------

I resume and try to uninstall the devices in Windows. Get the BIOS errors again and this time it installs the drivers (again). Restart again, and the devices work correctly.

To make a long, painful, story short...every time the computer sleeps/hibernates/shuts down (seems like anything to do with any loss of power to the device), the drivers get all screwy, the devices fail, and I get some weird BIOS error.

    Any comments or suggestions?

    Thanks!

Seems like HP wasn't ready for Vista. I can't get my wireless card to work

You just need to search for them on www.hp.com.... almost all of the drivers are already posted there...

Wow, now I re-installed XP and it's doing BIOS error. And it won't even start up!

    Any suggestions?

Maybe it's a BIOS issue? Would that effect drivers within Windows? Does anyone know what the BIOS were that shipped with the dv5215us because I installed RC2 on here a while back and it worked fine?
