as i'm now in a "choose best laptop for a certain price for your gf" situation which i explained and asked for opinions here i just recalled a problem one of my friends has had with his pavillion - basically, the pavillions are offered with vista already installed, with no cd/dvd media what-so-ever, only the possibility to recover the installation from the hdd (you need to use a software of your preference to dump that "recovery partition" onto dvds and do it just at the begining of your adventure with the pavillion), which means little when your hdd dies...

do you happen to know how it is with the series i mention in the topic? hp 550, 6720s and 6735s? are they offered with dvds already? or are they just the streamlined hdd full installs type? i'm asking 'cause i'm the kind of person who'd prefer to have OS and driver cds/dvds just in case along with not problematic traditionally activated ms os :D you know, just to have the ability of a fresh install :D

btw are there any users/owners of respective models (preferably ones i'm considering to buy) on these forum service? if so, can you give some more info on heat, battery, overall usage and responsiveness? thx in adance!
