Hi, yesterday I was playing a game BF2142, and I have been playing it for 4 months, but today when I decided to play again it would not read the DVD  , and then I looked at MyComputer and I saw that I could not even see the DVD drive. Any help? When I go to device manager I just see a ! sign on my DVD and I cant do anything about it. I have been looking for drivers for the DVD drive but I cant seem to find any. Any help would be appreciated  . Thanks Ivan

In the Device Manager, can you double-click the DVD drive? It will show you the status of the device which will help provide more information about the issue.

As for drivers, they don't really exist for DVD drives in general...including ones that are in laptops. Almost all DVD drives should work just fine using the built-in Windows drivers.

Update: I also uninstalled it,and tried to install it again and it failed. And when I put a CD in it tries to read it sounds like it is responding and it keeps spinning the CD for a couple of seconds.

This is the message:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). That's why I wanted to download a driver. Thanks Ivan

Hmmm...I don't think a driver exists which could help solve your issue. What operating system are you using?

If you're using Windows XP, take a look at this article - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060. This may be helpful if you are using Vista also.

I had to manually remove the upper and lower filters since the program was for XP. It worked perfectly, I also had Daemon tools. For anyone that had the same problem, you can start Registry Editor like this :Click on Start > Run, type Regedit and press OK, then follow the steps, they are very simple.YESS :D Thanks Ivan
