I'm buying a dv9000t with 2 GB of RAM and am not sure which would serve be better

    Moving up to a 2GHZ T7200 processor from the 1.6 T5200

    or

Moving up to a 512 mb GO 7600

I'll be using Vista for office and internet applications...fair amount of multitasking nothing particularly graphics intensive other than some occasional TV watching

    thanks

The extra 256 MB on the Go 512 MB 7600 will make practically no diffeence in performance. The Go 7600 can't use all of the 512 MB effectively. I would go for the T7200, as it can have more benefit in some applications, rather than an increase in graphics RAM.

precisely! go for the t7200; it would be a significant upgrade.

the t5200 only have half the cache that the t7200 has.

Thanks for the input! Too many $150 options to choose from. I'll go with the faster prosessor with the larger cache

Since I couldn't find a vista driver for go 7600, installed a 7600LE vista driver on dv9000t. Odd thing is, I have 256 meg video ram, but vista is recognizing my system with 256 dedicated memory and 271 meg of shared memory, with total available 527 megs.
