Does anyone know where to buy the Vista-style ExpressCard remote? I don't know if the one HP sells is the same as what comes in some HP laptops, it has the green Media Center in the top right and is mostly black instead of grey.

That is the one that came with my Vista computer, and it is as the one you described.

Since HP doesn't offer XP anymore with their consumer line of notebooks, I would assume that they don't ship XP remotes either, unless they have a giant surplus pile somewhere that they desperately need to get rid of. You should be safe and double check with customer service. Ring them up and ask about it.

Wow, that remote is rather nice! If you find anywhere that sells it, please do let me know. I have the old one and it's not quite as nice...

I liked the old one, simply because the buttons are easier to see in the dark or low light situations.

Did you order it straight from HP when you ordered your laptop?

yes. I wasn't aware that the computer came with one. I returned the one they sent me that I purchased separately.

Was it the one you ordered the same style with the green Windows logo?

Do you think this tuner will allow me to control an Adaptec Dual Media Tuner AVC-3610 using the built-in IR receiver on a HP Pavilion dv9000t?

The tuner that comes with the AVC-3610 is kind of big and bulky.
I saw on HP's website that you could order either of the smaller HP ExpressCard Remotes for $19.99, if I remember correctly.

The remote would probably work, but you'd loose channel flipping probably.

Different color, same functions. See if you can pick up one from the XP squeeze out. Should be cheap...

I'm not sure i fully understand the question's wording...
Are you asking if the remote works with the dv9000's built in IR reciever? yes, it does. And all the buttons function properly, including the channel up/down. I don't know if the tuner makes as much of a difference as the media software you're using. It has zero problems with Windows Media Center, and Media Player as well.

I know the remote is the same one that comes with the dv6000 as the dv9000
