Ok guys, I just got my dv2000t and reinstalled everything to get rid of all the junk software that was preinstalled.
All the features and drivers are up and running.
The only thing I cant find is how to enable the feature that displays the 'volume status bar' on the screen when the volume button is tapped.
I have the quick launch buttons installed and there is nothing in there that could enable this options.
Does anyone know where i can find this option?![]()
Thank you.

I deleted it as well, you have to go to HPs website and download the software again. Quick Play or something or another.

I installed the QuickPlay software and also installed the Quick Launch Button software and still no luck. I cant get the dame Volume Bar to appear on the screen.
It works when you do a system recovery, so i know there is something that needs to be enabled, but i just dont know where it is.
Has anyone else ran into this problem. Where you do a fresh XP installation and install all dirvers, everything works except the Volume Bar doesnt appear on the screen when you tap on the blue volume button on top of the keyboard? -
HP has never offered the Volume/Mute on screen display meters. None of my HP/Compaq laptops ever had the on screen displays, unless you had Win XP MCE which has that feature.
Anyways, try this. That should give you the Volume/Mute display...
