I've reinstalled me dv6565eo with XP, and I'm having a problem with the audio.

After rebooting the computer the volume is REALLY high (Even after muting the volume before rebooting).
The volume is shown as muted both in my status bar and the quicklaunch button is orange, but still the volume is high.
When I touch the quicklaunch button for the volume once, the volume is as it should be.

Hope anyone can help me with this problem.

Have you tried updating your audio drivers? Which drivers are you currently using?

Also have you installed the quick launch button drivers?

I've installed the audio driver mentioned in this thread:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=200763
(sp35682) Also installed the quick launch buttin drivers (The buttons is functioning)
I can't find any driver on HP's site for the dv6565eo on XP..... Only for Vista.

UAA is included i SP3, and that's what I've got.
I follwed that guide abit too, and the driver pack they've compiled is for realtek, and not for conexant which is in the dv6565eo.

Check and see if the Chipset in this link is the same as in your laptop. If it is try the driver. http://tinyurl.com/2frtw8

    I solved the problem.

Deinstalled the device, installed this driver: sp37732 (For Vista), which failed.
Rebooted and during the found new hardware wizard, I told it to search the internet, and automatically install the best driver.
    Afterwards everything looks fine.
