I just recently bought a dv9925nr and really like the thing, the only problem is that when I use the volume slider thing up at the top, the computer freezes up. No matter what program I'm in, when I try and change the volume using the embedded slider, whatever I'm in freezes up completely and onscreen volume bar tries to fade out but keeps flashing. All the other embedded keys work fine, it's just the volume. The only way to stop it is to force quit whatever program I'm in, then the volume display turns off and everything's fine. I don't understand what's happening, does anyone have any suggestions of what could be going on or what I could do to solve this? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Uninstall the HP quick touch software. The on screen display is causing this problem. HP probably needs to fix this problem with their software quickly.

I found you can just disable the "HP QuickTouch On Screen Display" during start up.

This way you can continue to use the quick touch buttons for everything else.

My 6833 works fine with the On Screen enabled, but I don't like it.

My wifes 2910 freezes with the On Screen enabled, but not after I stopped it from running on start up.

I use VLC Player and try to lower the volume with QuickPlay and it gets stuck on the little windows.

I had the same problem with my 9910, I contacted HP Online Support and their solution to the problem was to uninstall HP Quick touch software.

Great customer service huh? You pay good money for something that's advertised to include a service, and when it doesn't work the solution is too "just uninstall it".

Oh well, guess you didn't have to buy it right.

Thanks everyone. I disabled the Quicktouch display on startup so I could still use the buttons and it works fine now. Kind of wish I could still see the display but I'd rather have it working then see a volume bar. I guess the software is a bit buggy if others are having the same problems. Thanks again.
