I am just wondering if anyones ever had this problem I have. On my DV9774ca suddenly overnight the mute touch button above the keyboard has gone pink all the time and doesn't work anymore. Used to be blue for ON and orange for MUTED. At the same time the volume slider touch pad has stopped working, its directly to the right of the mute button.
I did a system Restore to another day that I knew it worked, hoping it was a driver issue, but didn't fix it. But now I notice when rebooting the mute button stays pink all the time, even when Windows hasn't even began to boot and the HP splash screen and other info is coming up ruling out a driver.

Has anyone seen this before and what was it? Thank you.

EDIT: I can manually mute and adjust volume with my mouse down on the taskbar area with the speaker icon by the clock.
