I am looking for a website which has information and pictures on the older voodoo line which is not displayed on their website. Does anyone know of such a site?
Other than K-Tron's sig![]()
Thank you

Just post on the mutthaboards, or whatever Voodoo calls the new forums, and ask. People will probably answer you and may even provide a few photos. A lot of posters still own old Voodoos and post every now and then. Ask OffRoad to post a shot of his planter box pictures, or chowbow to post his bathroom machine. LOL
Here are a couple of what once was a Rage - before:
After the liquid-cooling blew the machine to hell:
The world's first VooMachines. LOL
-
Thanks for the post and the pictures, I will check it out.
-
I have lots of pics, but you would have to PM me and let me know what pics you have.
Roz at voodoo could be lots of help, too since she is a graphical designer their and she is pretty fast at responding. She has all the pics, well at least ones at the factory.
Rob, I remember reading about your problems, and it was a shame that the liquid did that damage, I kinda liked the way your system looked. The old rage and f-class system cases were so sexy

amidond,
If there is a specific model you would like a couple reference photos for... I could probably post them for you. -
There is also a "Show off your Rig" thread on the Voodoo Forums that you can see photos of customer's machines:

Some photos of old VoodooPC Desktops:
VoodooPC's OMEN (original case style)
(refreshed case style)
VoodooPC's RAGE
VoodooPC's HEXX
VoodooPC's EPIC
VoodooPC's EDEN
VoodooPC's ARIA

VoodooPC's IDOL

sonoritygenius Goddess of Laptops
Wow, I am diggin' the Idol ! LOL
-
those systems are not for sale anymore. I think the epic, idol, doll and such were dropped from production like 2.5 years ago.
They did have some awesome cases. I loved the hexx and the old f-class, they had some great styling, which noone else offered. Its a shame they dont make anything like their old lineup. I would think lots of people would buy them because they looked different. Their current systems are just rectangle like everyone else's, and it would be a nice comeback to go with something a little out of the ordinary.
K-TRON -
Humm, well within Voodoo line to be honest I think the current line is the most original (inspite of looking too similar to Apple product line IMHO). All other lines were basically made up of mainstream chassis (anyone could buy it) just painted over in a different color.
Hey K-TRON if you really like to pay a lot of money for paint jobs, even better then VoodooPC IMHO you have http://www.falcon-nw.com/.
The only reason these guys are not now under the radar is becouse they were not bought by a major corp (check out the pics).

MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Falcon NW is nice, but for better or worse, it's nothing like what Voodoo and Alienware used to offer before they were bought.
-
I disagree. VoodooPC never offered anything as original as Alienware (after being bought by DELL) did from the ground up until now!
Take for instance the Voodoo Epic. It is a Zalman TNN case:
http://www.zalman.com/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=186
I could do the same with any previous VoodooPC chassis. I challenge you to do that with most Alienware chassis since 2004.

well, AW's alien head case is a glorified plastic skin over a Chieftec, or whatever chassis it was labeled under...
at the same time, Voodoo from Omen and on, used more Aluminum chassis from Lian-Li and Zalman...
the AW chassis is real cheap and they look it... my bro have one, and they shipped to him with a lock, but no key, and when he got the key, it did not lock... and some other missing parts and such...
the AlienFX or something about VGA cooling stuff is just a LED fan... lol...
voodoo chassis was far superior in quality... Lian Li makes some of the nicest case...
i'm trying to get my hands on an Omen... i know it's very similar to a LianLi V1200 but i love it... -
I wouldn't buy the AW either
But the originality is indeed so visible that does not need defending.
Having said this, the only system I would probably concider buying is the Blackbird 002 from HP. Nevertheless I would probably go for the base and add my own components ($1999)
I had a look at the one with LCS. Configured it just as the base (without LCS) and noticed a diff of $836. That would be the most expensive mainstream LCS one could ever buy. This leaves me to conclude that the only thing I would remove from the Blackbird pricing scheme is the VoodooPC DNA

I have a BAM Omen, a custom painted Hexx, a custom Rage and 2 Envy's at home.
But...I also have an AlienWare system. (Yeah...I know shut up.)
We had some kicking about head office and I took it home. It's an older unit (With an nVidia 5000 series AGP card.) but it works well for my son. (He plays EQ2.)
I was impressed with how neat the cabling was inside, (Ok, it isn't like ours, but hey, our cases were designed with "Ninja Cabling" in mind.) and the airflow is just fine.
My only complaint, and it always has been, is the look. I have never been one for PC cases that look like they have a face on the front. The look has evolved over the years, but it is still kinda based on the "Face on thr Front" design. I also can't get around the plastic casing. It creeks when I pick it up.
(And I never was into the X-Files and the whole "Alien Conspiracy" nonsense which I believe is what put them firmly on the map back in the day. But that is just my personal opinion.)
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. -
I would say that the Blackbird 002 is a strong system (more HP then VodooPC maybe). The price is not totally right IMHO (a diff of $800 buying elsewhere but well, maybe in two years it will be).
In the end of the day, if I had a Ferrari, an Austin Martin, a Porshe Cayanne for the family, a house in Malibu, another in NYC and another in Lisbon and in London, maybe 5 Omens (one for each) house would do me some good for style (just for that) near the geeksThen again with a Austin Martin and a Ferrari outside ....
Becouse I don't, well $7000 for a tech that in less then 6 months will probably need an update, nhaaa I'll pass that one. I would buy me an Austin Martin before any time (20 Omens?) ... Omen
Trance -
iMaxx... i'd buy that Omen case off ya...
and DFT... it's Aston Martin... no "u"...
-
O dear, you are tottally correct. Me and brands never went that well together
If that is yours mate, then Omen is definitely in your pathBut even then ...
Mine is this:
Was planing to buy this:
But found I did not had the money to run it and support the familyMaybe next time (maybe if I was single). The price of Diesel in Portugal is $8.5 per gallon. The prices of cars are equally high in comparison too (car TAX). Just my little Toyota costs $57,013 in Portugal. Maybe if I lived in the US ...
Still a long way from the Aston Martin ... snift

PS: Stand corrected Kinghong -
Meh, I have a Rolls Kanardly. :S
-
Seams the HP deal went well
Trance
PS: What Rolls is that? -
Hey iMaxx, better stop getting Omen's and Envy's, may be then you have the money to buy better wheelsBut I suspect you already have ... better wheels I mean.
Anyway back to the topic. What I meant was, that the only good justification I can find to buy an Omen is becouse one can, as any other falls short IMHO. So if you are that kind of person, by all means take it

I'm the owner of two HeXx cases.... I gave one to my brother but took it back he didn't use it, he was always traveling....
BTW HI ImaXX -
Heya mrblur.
You hangin' in these parts too? -
By choice. I used to do a 2 hour plus commute from Kitchener, Ontario to down town Toronto for about 10 years. When I moved out here, I swore off driving for a while.
My girlfriend, on the other hand, has a 2008 Ultima. -
I told you

hope you guys release something that puts this thing to shame... -
You have no idea...
-
I'm sure a VDPC will outperform in terms of price and looks. Let's see how it goes in terms of engine. Some tried and failed
Hey mrblur, I got 5.6 in index (due to my 2x8700M GT). My mem is rated 5.8 so maybe you have gotten some cheap ones. Not that I care that much. Your SLI scores are too low (3dmark06). You should be gettin values around 13.000.
Trance -
Dayum Blur, why didn't you pm me your link for your review?
how is it?
great so far?
Trance, you are in Portugal?
lovely country... spent a month in Porto... damn Port wine kept me there a while...
great coffee too!
but one thing bro... wassup with the old fashion dudes with sunglasses and sport jackets/coats over the shoulder look? ha ha ha... seems everyone got the Dapper Don look... ha ha ha... -
King,
Ya, I don't know cough cough. Must have been a bad seasonI prefer some jeans, a shirt or t-shirt and a blazer for the evening. Apple style (if there is one)
Right now I'm in Algarve on holidays (beach, SPA, walks, bike rides and so on). Just went for a swim. 34ºC outdoors. Later this month maybe Bavaria in Germany for those mountains rides, don't know yet.
When you have time go to Lisbon and Algarve.
Have fun,
Trance
PS: Haven't you noticed some old (or not so old) woman's with a "moustache" in Porto? Maybe not there, but up to Viana do Castelo you can find some. Lovely country -
bah... i get to travel a lot... but my travel takes me where there are factories... no vacation spots... but hopefully one day, i can go get some R&R in europe... -
If you ever care for some port just send me a message. But I think the US has some tight regulations about receiving wines from abroad
Trance -
thanks for the offer Trance... i went to local liquor store and purchased a bottle of 15 yr old port...
for some reason, i remember enjoying those house labels more... but this one is mighty smooth... i drink it only when i can sit and enjoy...
thanks again tho... -
You're welcome.
-
