I was trying to copy files from a WD Mybook 500GB HDD to my computer on vista, but i get errors that say "cyclic redundancy check" and errors that say this file does not exist on the Hard drive
does anyone know if these files are recoverable?

    Can someone please help me?

    thanks

Well you could try chkdsk with the repair switch on. It will force a reboot, and it will try to correct the errors. But if its really critical my guess the best is Spinrite form Gibson Research. In my opinion a must have. I run it once a month just to maintain my disk. A real life saver in trying to recover data.
