    There is only 1 USB connection that it needs, and that provides the power as well. We use these all the time at work and I know for a fact it only requires 1.
    The only problem I've noticed with the WD Passports is that the USB cable they provide is very short. Other than that they are great external drives, and very portable.

    Also, why don't you spend $40 more and get the 250GB model:
