I just did a clean install and when it came time to install my drivers, I went straight to laptopvideo2go for the latest version.

Once I installed it, I ran my WEI and got a 4.5. I had previously gotten a 4.8 with the driver that came on my system.

    I ran wprime and got a 32M of 31.196 and a 1024M of 997.324.

Now I know a lot of people say not to pay attention to the WEI but I couldn't help myself since it had previously been a tad bit higher. So I rolled the system back to before any driver was installed and then installed the driver from the HP site. Ran the WEI again and got a 4.8.

Ran wprime and got a 31.076 on 32M. After running through the Vista tweaks thread, I ran the 1024M and got a 995.953 and a 31.294 32M.

Right now my laptop has the 4.8 WEI and the latest driver that HP has on its site. The results really don't seem to be that much different in benchmarking (correct me if I'm wrong on that) between the two drivers.

Should I go ahead and go back to the LV2Go driver and disregard the WEI? How do the comparable benchmark tests look since I honestly don't know how to interpret those results? The version I downloaded was 169.09, if that helps.

WEI is used to give lucky numbers for lotto. Its never consistent. Hopefully they improved benchmarking on SP1

    Try using 3dmark for benchmarking

What drivers are you comparing it with 169.09 lv2go v's ??

You should experiment with other LaptopVideo2Go drivers, since one driver may offer great performance while the other suffers for a specific card. Have you tried the 169.28 drivers?

The exact same thing happened to me. I did notice however that the 3D graphics score went from 5.1 to 5.2 if that matters. All the games I play seem to work just as well as before the upgrade. I did notice the temp of my GPU fell about 5 degrees celsius during idle. I have no idea what the benchmark scores mean.

I upgraded to 174.16 last night and now my 3d graphics is up to 5.3. Temp stays around 57c during idle.

I have also seen this condition.... I would love to know what driver does best for the a DV9700t system so please post your findings.

BTW, I have also ran 3DMark06 and there was a difference there as well (HP stuff running faster), but I didn't record the numbers.

I am currently running the stock out of the box setup right now with LaptopVideo2Go drivers 174.16 right now and am getting 4.8, but I have seen some with laptops like mine getting 5.0.

Use 3dmark for benchmarking video card results.

    WEI is inaccurate

They are broken down into OS, and then to desktop or laptops.

Where did everyone get 174.16 or am I missing something obvious? All I see is 169.09 for Vista 32 bit.
