    WHICH LAPTOPS SPEAKERS SOUND BETTER COMPAQS JBL PERFORMANCE OR HP'S HARMON/KARDONS? DO THESE LAPTOP SPEAKERS SOUND DIFFERENT THAN OTHER OLDER LAPTOP SPEAKERS?

    i like my harmon kardon's..one of the best i've heard on laptops.

    I have the R3000z w/ the JBLs... the thing that suks is that the speaker grill are curved faced down... and you'll have to be far back to hear the speakers clear. As for the HPs.. i don't know..i might sound better because the speaker grills are faced upwards... ???

    They are both REALLY good speakers for a laptop. I haven't heard that many laptop speakers, but they are better than my old desktop ones. Both the Compaq and HP speakers have quite good quality bass for speakers, but I would have to give the edge to Compaq because I'm biased :) But seriously, they sound identical to me.

    Same reason but different brand for me. I have to go with HP Harmon Kardon for this. Their speakers is quite above average compared to the rest of the notebooks out there.
