I have the same problem on my dv9235nr running Vista Home Premium. It says 60%, so you'd think i'd get a slightly lower connection speed or something. It's perfectly fine, just as fast as my pc which is connected non-wirelessly.

    it's a driver issue. lame.

I agree--it must be a driver issue. I was at my neighbor's house a few days ago comparing my dv6000t to his Dell 1501. I was surprised to see that I had a connection to my wireless, at least 300 feet away. It was at three bars, if I remember right, just as it is when I'm 10 feet away from the router.

My DV9000t does this too I think, but I did find out something interesting. If you go to the window for discovering new networks it does report signal strength correctly there. Once you connect to the network the status icon in the tray bar then only shows 3 bars. I wonder if it's a Vista bug.

I noticed something similar and thought it was just my network: I have two Linksys routers - both will show five bars when I scan for them. But, as soon as I connect, the one I'm connected to shows three bars and the other still shows five. If I disconnect, and connect to the other, then they flip-flop - the one I'm connected to always shows three bars. Sounds more and more like a Vista bug.

Same here I think it is just a driver issue with vista

I have the same issue and posted it here a while back. Speed test shows normal and running at max bandwidth allowed under my provider's plan at 6mbps. I don't worry about the reading at 60% anymore.

Same here on a dv9230us. I'm thinking this is a Vista bug. :-/

Doesn't really bother me, though, as long as it still works. :p
