    Hey all!

I have a HP Laptop here, the installation of windows is damaged and there is no way to access the recovery to restore it, so it needs to be done manually with the WIM files.

I unplugged the hard drive and placed it into a desktop PC to view the recovery partition and see the WIM files.

By doing this, what I have normally done to restore laptops is follow the above method, use Imagex /apply command, and apply it to the laptop hard drive which would then have a fresh installation of vista.

The problem im having with this particular HP, is that there isnt just one WIM file, there are 2.. called BASE.wim and BASE2.wim.

I just get an error when I attempt to /apply the BASE.wim and vice versa, what I read scouring the internet is that they may have been split? because they are currently disc sizes, 2 600MB files.

So how would I go about restoring windows with 2 WIM files? because /apply doesn't work.

Do I need to combine them in some way to make it back into 1 WIM file? or is there some other method on Imagex I must do?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I did a search and found no information on this kind of problem, especially on google, please help as soon as you can.

    Thank You,

    Greyze.

This problem seems to be a bit more technical than the average WIM issue, if no one is able to help here, does anyone know where else I could go?
