Hey guys, I'm not entirely sure I'm sold on Windows 8, but that doesn't mean I want to waste the offer for the upgrade. Do you guys know if there's a way to redeem it without having to install it on the spot?
I'd just like to download whatever installer there is and do it later. Or is there some sort of way to get a key from the offer for an installation?

    Thanks

You have to redeem the special coupon that you were given to purchase Windows 8. After you checkout, You will get your Windows 8 Product Key. Then just activate Windows 8 when you're ready. PS. I think you'd better redeem the coupon soon since I believe it's set to expire and Microsoft will be raising the price starting in February...

I have the coupon, but the next step, according to their site and emails, is to run the Upgrade Assistant, after which I get the screen where I actually enter the coupon and pay.
I guess I just want to confirm that running that will not start the Windows 8 install process. I just want to get a key or something like you said.

    Thanks

Enter the coupon in the checkout page and add your payment information. Once you're done you'll see the Windows 8 Product Key right there. You'll also get an email with the Key. After that just close the Windows Upgrade Assistant. Then just install Windows 8 when you're ready...

You should take the time to download the files to an ISO image and then burn the disc to install at a later time.

The product key is yours no matter what and doesn't expire. You just have to make that purchase by the 31st.
