    Hello Everyone ..

Finally made the plunge ..!! Decided on the Compaq R4010CA. Should be here by the end of the week.

I am impressed with this device. At first I only focused on laptops ..such as Asus, LG ...Toshiba and Dell. For many reasons I like the Compaq.

Great technology ...this laptop offers alot of it...!! DVD (R+RW) and CD-RW Combo Drive. Wide screen ...15.4" High Definition BrightView ..and ATi Radeon 200M video graphics. ..Plus more ..

Sound is very respectable ..and clear of distortion. But I think one of the greatest attributes of this laptop ..(yes, even greater than the smart AMD Sempron CPU) ..is the intelligent thought gone into "the little things"

..I have to say that this laptop is a well planned device. The TouchPad has a dedicated On/Off button...as does the WiFi feature of this device. Therefore ..no digging into software to disable the machine's WiFi proweling ...just push the button ..and it's off (or on) ...neat ..!! And although I am sounding ridiculous ..this machine does have a PS/2 port ...so I can still use my current optical mouse ...haha. Well ..beats having to go out now and pay out another $ 40 - $ 50 for a mouse w/ USB connector ...!!

...I will talk more when I have the device in front of me ...

    cheers ..

ps/2? um i think your mistaken my friend. I Currently have a R4000 (same model as yours, just not prebuilt) and there is NO ps/2 port whith the exception of the internal ps/2 which the touchpad runs off of. You may also be mistaken on the S-Video Out, which may look like a PS/2 port. I know this because i myself use a Logitech TrackMan wheel mouse, and was put off when i couldnt game on my laptop because there was no ps/2 port, so i sucked up and went out and got a USB wireless

but other than that, good choice on notebook. Its ALOT cheaper than its counterpart, the pavilion ZV6000 (which is ALOt more expensive with the only additional feature of an IR port) and its quite a powerfull little notebook
