Waiting for a DV4t? Post Here

Hey Guys, I'm expecting a dv4t on or about the 22nd of August, which is weird because I ordered over a week ago, and the website still gives a ship date of the 22nd if you order today... But I'm getting anxious and I find it easier just to talk to other people that are already waiting.. So post your specs, start talking... lol

 

what i think is they usually wait until they get a handful of finished laptops in one period n ship them out on a same day, that's why they set the build date of people ordering in a same week on one, until the order amount reaches their limit. but big chance that they'd finish all the orders(or most) by an earlier date, then they will start shipping those.

so i guess take a few days (at least 3) ahead of your estimate should be the actual...still depends on what you have put on your on-built lappy.

Yeah Fedex ships the notebooks from Chinatown very quickly. I really don't want to imagine how the factory is ran over there. All those little underpaid China men running around with motherboards and processors yelling mudda ah board install did.

 

man I wish mine would ship already. 7mile when was your ship date and when did you order? Also do you guys know if the dv4t also has the light up hp logo on the outside of the screen like the dv5t?

cool, still cant wait to get mine. I guess i have like a week or so before I get it. So 7 more days to go!

 

I just called up HP and they told me there is a 2-3 week delay on all of their newer computers... WTF?

lol that was messed up, I almost had a heart attack.

 

estimated to BUILD on 19th, then i got an email saying it'd be shipped before 19th,6days later(exclude weekends),on 12th got another one telling me that its already shipped.....i was really worried about it not being able to get to me before 21st since i'll have to leave for school that day, hp didnt even give me a chance to experience a heart attack......well maybe it did, on a total opposite angle.... im pretty much settled on them right now, hopefully my dv4t would be a total perfection...

 

i guess you just wont settle being sober for 37min would you

first impression n a bunch of install/uninstall...(cuz i didnt do a clean install yet), VERY NICE. only i'd say it does have a higher than avg hdd temp,but still, it hasnt gone above 50 yet.

 

I saw your pics looks good, i really want to see one with the brightview infinity display. As far as the hard drive temps, what hard drive do you have in there?

 

Just look out of your bedroom window and voila!

 

hitachi....but like i said in the other post i dont think with western digital wont make any difference.i guess its the thing next to it generates heat a lot affecting the hd as well.

 

I ordered my on August 13th. On the site it says:

(Estimated to ship on August 22, 2008)

Do they really mean my dv4t will be ship ON August 22nd? or will ARRIVE on August 22nd?

It's August 20th already. I can't wait. I even call customer service and had a chance to spoke to this girl. I told her (in voice of my dad) that it's my gift for back to school. She said she'll inform the team to have it arrive by Thursday but somehow the website still saying it's in production which make me a little bit nervous.

I've never wait this long for anything.

 

Well, there is a correct diagnosis for this. I believe it's called impatience? lol

Just sit back and relax. They can't expedite the creation of your notebook. It's made in a factory in China and is usually shipped by the "estimated" date. Sometimes those unfortunate events occur and you experience a slight delay. Don't worry. We're all in the same boat with you.

So what is your dv7t status? What's your estimated shipping date?

 

My estimated ship date is August 25th.

 

Wow, I'm so excited. I just check Hp.com and it said my item is shipped!!! HORRAY!!!

However, Fedex shows no tracking info just yet. Does anyone know how many days does it take to get to California from China?

I can't tell you how happy I am at this moment.

 

It took 2 days for me and 3 days for FedEx (including one day in China, which is one day ahead of us)

It should take upto 3 days although your shipping method says it will take from 5 to 7 days.

 

My first DV7t shipped on a Friday and I got it Monday.

 

I'm so confuse with their shipping methods. 5-7 business days, does that mean 5-7 days AFTER the build day? or AFTER Purchase Day?

Since I bought mine on 8/13, it has been 6 business days now. So does that mean I'll have to wait 3 more days for Fedex?

 

The estimated date that they give you is the date they expect to finish the computer and ship it. They have been finishing them a few days earlier then estimated. They will send you an e-mail that they shipped it, and include a Fed-ex tracking number. From that day (the day they ship it), Fed-ex has 5-7 business days to get it to your house. I got mine 4 days after they shipped it. I got an e-mail notification they shipped it at 4am on a Monday morning, and it arrived before 12pm on Friday. You can go to the Fed-ex site once you get your tracking number and follow the progress. The Fed-ex site will also give you a delivery date which should be accurate.
