On the Costco website it just lists it as "in process". I read a couple of threads that talk about HP's website listing a "build date" as well as a ship date. Can someone describe/list how HP keeps you informed of your computer's progress.....

If you ordered from Costco then they should update it as & when they get the info from HP. As for as the build date, it should have been listed when you ordered the system.

HP doesn't notify by email until the laptop has shipped. The update website displays 'in production' for most of the order duration after you order has been processed and sent to the factory. The next time they update would be when your laptop ships & they list the tracking number along with the serial number fo the laptop.

Thanks.... it sounds identical to Costco except the wording is slightly different.

One of the downsides of costco is that they don't keep you updated as quickly as HP does. Other than that it's still the best way to order.
