Is there any way to wake my dv8000t with a USB keyboard?

Possibly.
Go into Device Manager and, under the Power Properties of the USB devices there may be an option to "Allow this device to wake my computer". Try selecting these.

Power Management tabs don't exist for these USB devices, only for the laptop touchpad and the laptop keyboard. So there isn't even an option to enable or disable the checkbox.

There should be a setting in the bios marked as "Legacy USB devices...." or something. That might help

Usually the power on by keyboard option is inside the BIOS. I don't know if its possible to wake it with the USB keyboard (I know with desktops it will work, but I'm not sure about laptops), but I will look into it and see what I can find.

It is not possible unless you have a third party program installed. I forgot what the program name was but try doing a search on google.
