I really want to order one of these HP dv5t but I live in the UK :(.

    1. They don't ship outside the USA
    2. There isnt a HP shopping customization site in the UK :( , So I can't configure a HP laptop in the UK, and they dont have any good ones.

Anything I can do? any options ?

Is there not some services online, that will receive your product then ship it to the UK ??

Or can anyone on here, send it to the UK, if I order one, and ship it to your address ?

I thought HP had a UK presence? Check out your big box retailers?

Dont just count on complete strangers to recieve a laptop specced out to their doorstep and SEND it to UK :D lol Maybe you have a friend you trust or a relative in the US?

Here is the HP UK site but the Dv5t isnt avail YET, call their CS and ask I am sure within a month it may be? http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF02a/321957-321957-3329744.html

Yeh, but the UK site only sells pre-built ones too, you can't custom build them like the uk site.

I've seen lots of online services like rent a us address. And you ship it to that address, then the company gets it, and posts it to you .

    hmmm.

What about the HP warranty tho it won't work in the uk will it? And i might have to pay tax ?

I was thinking about this as it's the same deal here in New Zealand - only prebuilt models. You will proably have to pay import tax. Warranty when brought here in NZ is worldwide ONLY if spare parts are available in that country. Ie, if I imported the US models with 1650x1080 screens, these aren't available here in NZ, so I probably won't get serviced for that. Likewise, the UK/US keyboards might be different...etc etc

I just spoke to hp live chat, and they said their warranty is not global, and its only for the USA.

Yea, I tried to order my dv6700t from Bulgaria, and it did not let me. The laptops they sell in the USA are much better and cheaper than in other countries. If you want I can order it for you and you can put a shipping address in UK, or if you can think of something, I am willing to ship it to you if you want. I had a problem with my nokia n95 tho, in bulgaria they wanted 20% tax if you import it, I dont know how this stands in the Uk, but you may be burned by their taxes, because when I bought my nokia I paid $300 for it and then when I shipped it to Bulgaria they charged me 20% but not on what I paid for it but what its value is so it was arround $140 and that was half the price I paid for the phone(it was still a good deal, but if I knew i would have paid another $100 and just gotten one from europe). So try to get someting more expencive with the same specs from the UK because that might be cheaper when you ad customs tax and import tax.

Yeh, cheers for the help :), Even if I paid tax it would still be like $400 cheaper than buying it in the UK. And you can't get it in the Uk either, you only get pre built ones not the ones I want.
