So I want to upgrade my dv2500t's RAM to 4GB (it has 2GB right now), but I'm not sure what type to get.

I want the fastest and most reliable RAM that'll work with my laptop. But I can't find out anywhere specifically what kind of RAM it is (and the speed). Does anyone know? I had an Alienware laptop before, and found out what the RAM type and speed was on their website, but I don't see that anywhere on HP's website.

If anyone knows, can they give me a list of good RAM (2 x 2GB, obviously) for my dv2500t?

EDIT: Also, I know that Vista 32 bit doesn't support 4GB of RAM, so would I be better off just buying one 2GB stick? If I get 4GB would my 8400GS use the leftover 1 GB that Windows isn't using?

i would recommend 2 GB sticks at 667mhz asi bet thats the latency it supports
also kep in mind that if you are upgrasibg to 4gb that you have 64bit vista as otherwise it wouldnt recognize it as u already mentioned above

you could try buying it at newegg
well i sould suggest brands like kingston etc

    Thanks :)

Does the RAM HP ships with run at 677MHz?

EDIT: What kind of RAM is it, anyways? I still can't find that! i.e. PC2 5300, 200 pin, etc?

EDIT #2: After an hour or so of searching HP's website, it's this:
    2GB, PC2-5300 DDR2-667MHz memory module

    Awesome, thanks :)

For those interested, here's Crucial's page for RAM upgrades for the dv2500t (on their site you can pick your computer and it'll take you to a similar page if you've got a different laptop, too):
    http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion dv2500t Series

If you get 2 x 2GB and Windows only recognizes 3 or 3.5GB, the remaining 1GB (or 500MB) can be used by your shared graphics card memory :D

Be careful with crucial. They have 800MHz RAM listed on their site for these laptops, even though you get no benefit from using 800MHz, except that it's more expensive. I tried to explain this to them, but they didn't understand the difference between front side bus and RAM bus.
