I want to add a HDMI port so I can connect my laptop to my LG TV primarily for viewing pictures. Current computer only had VGA port which won't work. Someone suggested my video card may need to be updated. Can these updates be done and is it financially reasonable to consider this changes.
    Thank you

Not a possibility under any reasonable circumstance. You can't change the video "card" as it's not a card but is soldered to the motherboard. Neither could you add the HDMi connector. It would be better to buy a cheap used notebook with a HDMI port.

The only solution available would be a Matrox dual head. But you'd have to also buy a DVI to HDMI conversion cable.
