    im wanting to add a hard drive, if i get everything i need. caddy, adapter and what ever else i need, get the right SATA hard drive and hook everything up, the question is will my computer recognize the hard drive or will i have to do something extra to get the drive to work.
    i have a dv9205us

    that said when i plug the drive in and go to my computer, is the drive gonna show up?

    You'll see it in the device manager.

    All you do is right click on My Computer, then click on "Manage", then click on "Disk Management". From there you will be able to manage your HDDs and format the new one so you can use it in your system.
