It sounds like HP laptop warranties are not transferrable. However, if I were to buy a laptop with a 3-year on-site warranty + depot accidental damage protection and decide I don't like the laptop, could I just refrain from registering the product or whatever one has to do to activate a warranty and sell it to someone else, allowing *them* to take advantage of the warranty (assuming this happened within a month or so of purchase)? Or, is the warranty automatically registered in my name (and therefore non-transferrable) when the purchase is made?

    Warranties are transferable.
