Question for all of you armchair lawyers (or perhaps real lawyers)....
I have an issue with my Compaq Presario V2000 laptop. It is now on its way to HP service for the second attempt at fixing the same problem. My question to you is, does any one know if there is a legal requirement for HP to either fix the problem or refund my $$ or provide a NEW replacement unit after a certain # of tries fixing the same problem? This would be similar to the lemon laws that cover car purchases.
If it matters, I purchased the laptop in Virginia and that is where I live.
Thanks in advance!

usually what I hear is that with 3 is the limit, but I could be wrong as I've never actually had to deal with it or look it up.

you can try all the legal crap you want but the fact is... it needs to go in for service for 3 or more times... i say more times because some ppl dont ***** about gettin it replaced.. if you ***** and ***** to the tech support you shall get what you want... IF its over the 3 time service limit

Am not sure about the legal aspect of this, but usually some ar-twsisting helps. My friend got a Dell with some dead pixels. They weren't ready to repair/replace it until he threatened to return it and never buy anything from them again. Not sure if your 30-day return period is over.
