So my original one year manufacture warranty is about to expire in a month. Should I get an extension? Specs are below. Recently, there was a post about how bad the G86 chips are, should that be a factor? Or any other problems I should be aware of.

Also does anyone has a step to step on opening the case. The system fan is getting dusty and it is the kind of dust that air can wouldn't blow off.

Extended warranties usually are to make money.

If your system hasn't had any issues, i wouldnt worry about an extension.

Systems are made to work not to break down.

Sometimes problems do occur, like windows not booting up or ram frying or whatever.

Would you rather pay the extension? Or a do-it your self deal?

The warranty guide might be worth a look. The hardware maintenance manual on HP's website will explain how to disable it.

yea you get one full year during the standard 1 year manufacture warranty to decide whether to extend or not. you cant buy it after your warranty expire i think. the price is still the same whether you buy with the laptop or standalone.

just checked the term you could buy it after your warranty expires. but it has to be in working order.

Thank ZaZ, I kinda deleted the email receipt to get the extended warranty from MasterCard and I'm not sure if the statement of the credit card still exist or not. But I guess I will buy another year and have MasterCard cover another full year after that and save myself $100 for 3years of protection.
