    Was it ever possible to overclock the CPU/GPU on the Envy 17 (1xxx)

    I used to frequent, but disappeared for a year or so. I have an old Envy 17 1010 (i think? haha). It's got an i5 450m. Was it ever figured out if the CPU could be overclocked? What about GPU?

    At the temperatures that thing runs at, you might want to think about underclocking, not the other way around.

    I personally never tried to (not that I ever wanted to either), but you would need a really good laptop cooler to even test it out.

    I used to overclock my GPU to about 700/950, but then I took a overheat in the laptop.

    I use MSI Afterburner, but I don't know if I can overclock the CPU.
