Two and a half years ago I bought a Compaq Presario V2000.
Recently I was thinking how nice it would be to move on to a laptop with a bigger screen and more speed and maybe a few more bells and whistles. Then I thought to myself...why?
The V2000, while being a Plane Jane laptop, still gets the job done with reasonable speed. Granted I am not into games. I use it mainly for the internet and word processing and it handles my small business chores too. It even has good old fashioned Windows XP Home Edition.
Yay!
(Just came back from having my CPA do my taxes and since my last visit he had upgraded his office machines that included Vista and upon asking his opinion of Vista vs his old Windows XP he replied glumly that there were Vista glitches he was still working on)
The V2000 has had very few problems...so...I think it'll be a while before I upgrade to a new laptop.
Hey, cause I'm not upgrading, I just saved myself 600 to 800 bucks!![]()

If the V2000 still serves your needs, then there is little cause to upgrade to a new machine.
I still use my old V5000 daily, even though I've owned a flashy 6-series model for nearly a year. As advanced as the newer one is, the older one works just as well (and is much more quiet). -
I soled mine month ago for about 800$,but it was a great machine(i bought it year ago in usa for 500$
)
Was my HP Compaq Presario V2000 a good buy?
