I watched yesterday's AFC Championship game on my HDX 16t via the digital TV tuner. Spectacular picture. But...

I had the speakers on my notebook cranked up as high as possible, but still the football game wasn't loud enough and too hard to hear. The speakers are definitely capable of putting out more, as they do with other applications. There's something about Media Center--the volume is just not high enough.

Any ideas on how to boost speakers in Media Center??

There is a seperate volume control in media center, I forgot where, and there are several other places to set volume levels on HP computers. Find and reset all of them to max- I suspect this will fix your problem.

Yeah, I've hit every audio related setting I can find in Media Center, but no change in audio level... 8-()

I believe there is also an audio setting in Control Panel. Did you check that one? Make sure to re-boot all applications also, and to hit the "apply" and save changes (I forget sometimes). Is there a separate audio output level adjust on the TV tuner?

One last thing I can think of-- My laptop has a Media Direct Button that bypasses Windows and goes directly to Media Center. If I accidentally hit the volume control while in this mode(as I often do), it effects the volume level in all other applications. I have to go back to Media Direct mode, reset the volume to max, re-boot applications and/or computer, and then everything works fine. Good luck
