    Hello llmercll,

I'm hardly an expert when it comes to fan control, but I do know that you can change the fan configuration (for the HP Envy 14 at least) through the system BIOS. I haven't messed with it myself but know of others who have changed some settings in there to keep the fan from continuously cycling on/off, etc. Not much help I know, but if you haven't looked into it yet that may be a place to start.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will come along and help you out.

    Good luck!

If your HP model uses SMSC EMC2113 or SMSC EMC2103-1 fan controllers, there is a HWiNFO32 Beta build that will allow for fan control. See here.
