I recently purchased HP Envy 15 TouchSmart. I am facing an issue with the webcam. Its doesn't seem to work. Instead of displaying images, it is displaying black background. There might be issue with the driver because when i go to device manager>Imaging Device it shows usb webcam instead of HP Webcam. But I can't find the drivers of this webcam on internet. When I used the default camera software for the first time, it showed image for a second and then displayed black color

Can someone help me in resolving this issue?

Anyone who owns HP Envy 15 TouchSmart, can you please tell me, which driver is listed in Device Manager>Imaging Device list?

I think I have discovered the reason. My laptop uses HP True vision HD webcam and in device manager it shows USB Camera which is by default provided by Windows8. I have tried every step that you provided in the above mentioned link. Reinstalled drivers and camera software using HP Utility as well as manually. But it looks like it is 64-bit driver issue with windows 8. Can someone help me in resolving this issue? I can't find stand alone 64-bit drivers.

I downloaded this HP True vision HD drivers from HPs website "sp61279.exe". This consists of all the drivers combined that is compatible with
    1) Windows 7 32 & 64bit
    2) WIndows 8 32 & 64bit and
    Windows XP and VISTA.

But when I install, it looks like it by default starts installing 32-bit drivers. In device manager when I reinstall the drivers and provide the path of these drivers, it simply doesn't recognize any driver over here.

Yes its a realtek webcam, here is your hardware id in RtsUVC.inf

    Code:
    %rtsuvc.DeviceDesc%=rtsuvc.NTamd64.6,USB\VID_0bda&PID_5821&MI_00
Want to find your driver, then google "Realtek WebCam 6.2.9200.10236"

Finally HPs engineer came and replaced the webcam and it worked. I appreciate your help. I seriously apologize if I said anything that sound rude or offensive. It was never my intention
