I have a HP dv9000 (dv9930us) that I downgraded to XP. I install all of the drivers needed for the webcam and it shows that it works in device manager and also there is a tray icon for it. But when i try to use it in skype or other software all i see is a black screen. If i want to use it from my computer it says: "Creation of the video preview failed. Please check the device connection and make sure that the device is not being used by another application or user."
Also it did not work in vista when i had it installed. Can someone please help?

P.S. I did try the acer driver but it still doesn't work.
    OS: Windows XP Pro SP2

Try this sticky at the top of the forum, it worked great for my DV9700T:

Try downloading the YOUCAM software from the HP site.
