I know the Windows Experience Index is not very accurate, but something about it makes me scratch my chin.
A have a dv9500t with an 8600M GS. It scores a 4.9 for the "Graphics" section, which is in regards to the Desktop performance for Windows Aero.
I also received a replacement dv5t with a 9600M GT yesterday. It scores a 4.8 in that same section, even though the 9600M GT should be considerably better than the 8600M GS.
Anyone know why this could be? I've yet to do a clean install on the new dv5t, and would the dv5t being 64-bit Vista Home Premium compared to 32-bit Vista Home Premium be a factor at all?
Thanks.

WEI: inaccurate.

As always stated, WEI is inaccurate. Try some real benchmarks like, 3dMark06, or some in-game FPS benchmarks, then you'll get more accurate results.

I got annoyed when I received my new dv7t as well. I had the 8600 in a dv9700. I chalked the difference to Microsoft retardation. Everyone else complains about Vista, I figure if this is the only thing over the past 2 years that really bothers me...I can live with it.

hm i score a 5.0 with a 9600m gt in the graphics department
-
Huh...?
How does that work... -
idk
its prob dependent on more than just the graphics card -
get new drivers from laptopvideo2go.com
-
Huh?? Compare my specs in my signature to yours...That blows me away

I think WEI REALLY means nothing especially when it comes to "the Desktop Performance for Windows Aero".
Different notebooks with the same type of graphics card get different scores.
So, don't trust WEI.
Wei: 8600m Gs > 9600m Gt?
