    I have a problem...
I had a dv2700t, with a problem I described in this forum some time ago...
I didn't manage to solve the problem and HP couldn't/wouldn't "fix" it...
the problem was that the wireless... caused blue screens/crashes randomly while using internet (downloading large and small torrent files for example)
this happened ONLY when using WIRELESS connection.

I now, after nagging on HP for months, own a dv7-1290.
Imagine my surprise when I get the same problem...
the only difference that I've been able to discern between this problem and the old problem is that this computer doesn't crash the UBUNTU live cd that the other computer managed to do.

I'm not getting the exact same BCCODE... latest one was
    1000008e usually it's
    0000000A that I get/got...

I've googled the problem/codes and I have drawn a blank... I'm just coming here to get some cheering up and thought on the matter...

I'll give a short list of things I've done, forgive me if I forget to write some things down :)

    • tried Vista 32 and 64 bit
    • tried UBUNTU Live CD and it didn't crash I guess that is SOME good sign?
    • different routers
    • b/g mix and g/n mix
    • newest wireless drivers (directly from INTEL)
    • tried with only 2 Gb RAM (forget why)

What are your thought, am I just unlucky? I've only had this problem with the HP's I have...

You can just disable the computer from rebooting whenever it encounters an error. Google how to do it for Vista, I can't remember off-hand.

That's how I fixed it for my connection issue. It's a problem with the computer drivers, nothing with your network configuration.

If you disable the reboot, you won't get a bluescreen just a little pop up informing you of the error. Hit ok and continue your work.

I've disabled the auto reboot through the advanced system settings... not sure if that is what you meant but I'll try it out soonish.
