My DV2500T has an intermittent stuck pixel in the upper part of the taskbar, near the middle of the display. It's odd because it shows up only if there is a largish light-colored area a couple of inches above it, such as a Notepad window. The intensity of the stuck pixel actually varies with the brightness and size of this area; close the Notepad window, or simply move it to the side a bit, and the pixel becomes dark. I've tried the "massage" trick and the "flicker" movie files, but they don't help. Anyone seen this before?

Do you mean DEAD PIXEL? If your machine is under warranty - replace it as you will never get that dead pixel working.

I would send it in for repairs. This doesn't sound like a typical dead or stuck pixel problem.

It's brand new, so maybe they'll swap it out. Is anyone discussing the various displays HP may be using in the DV2500T? Mine is LPLA500. It has none of the graininess Dell users are complaining about, and it looks good if you view it at the right angles, which as usual, are very limited. The horizontal viewing angles are rather narrow, and colors don't just dim, they invert. (Must keep reciting to myself... It's a laptop screen, it's a laptop screen, ... :) )

unless you bought it from a store, you may be "Stuck" no pun intended.. I think HP's Warranty on Stuck/Dead pixels is 5 or 6 on your screen.. Read your owners Manuel for clarification..
