This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Weird thingy on my desktop

    I'm posting this here because I suspect this might be an HP thing. This weird little icon (but not really an icon) showed up on my desktop. I don't know what it's from, or even how long it's been there (it might have kind of disappeared into the other background).

    Any ideas what this little thing is? I can move it around the screen, but can't delete it, and I get nothing when I right-click or double-click it.

    Maybe start killing stuff in task manager until it goes away.

    Have you tried to remove that background and try a different Hp background?
