I'm just conducting a little survery here to try and find out what make and model of hard drive different owners of HP DV1000 series models (including HP DV11xx models) have in their machines.

Also some comments on wheter or not you find your hard drive noisy in the absolute sense and compared to any other notebooks that you may previously have owned would also be helpful.

You can find out what make and model of hard drive is in your machine by clicking Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Disk Drives. The make and model of your hard drive should be shown when you click the little + sign showing on the left of Disk Drives in Device Manager.

If you can say what make and model of hard drive you have plus the capacity and (if known) the spin speed of the drive plus also the model number of your whole DV1000 machine (eg DV1139EN) then it would be very helpful indeed.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance
