    Hello,

I just bought a new HP laptop preloaded with Vista. I'm really considering making this thing dual bootable with XP.

I've heard of people having problems with drivers, so I would like to be as prepared as possible when I got through the process.

Does anyone know what series of laptop I have? I think this would help with what drivers I should download. I looked on the hp website and turned up with nothing.

Also, does anyone have a set of outlined steps for the dual boot process for HP's specifically?

Hey. Well, to know what series you have, it would be helpful if you gave us the screen size, what kind of graphics card is installed, but would probably be the best if you could upload pictures - if you can. As for the dual boot with XP, I wouldn't recommend it because I've heard that installing XP will void warranty - but I'm not sure if dual boot counts, though it doesn't hurt to maybe not install it; someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You have an HP tx1000z series notebook. To be more specific, a tx1210ca. I don't know much about downgrading from Vista to XP personally, but there are many threads on this forum about installing XP and dealing with the driver issues.

    Hope this helps.

Thank to everyone for the support. I found some drivers for XP for the tx1000z series on hp.com.
