hello everyone i have a hp dv5040us that i just got coming from a toshiba satellite m55-s3315.
my problem is that my hp notebook does not have as good of a wifi signal as my toshiba did. the reason i know this is because i have wireless in my house and at school.
here at home my connection fluctuates beteween 54 and 36 mbps. and at school just the other day with my toshiba i could get a connection while in class but now the signal is so weak that it goes down to like 5mbps and cuts in and out.

i have tried the most recent drivers and tried google'ing for some answers but i dont have a model # to get a good search going. all it says is BROADCOM 802.11A/B/G/ WLAN. i have tried using everest but it says the same thing. is there even a model number i can go by?

thanks for any help in advance guys.
