I just bought this laptop from Neweeg.ca and it arrived the other day. originally when I turned the laptop on the screen stayed black but i could tell the system was running. We did a hard reset by holding down the power button with the battery removed and that fixed it temporarilly. Then later on that night it still was not turned the screen on when i would turn on the laptop. Yesterday we did a HHD test and memory test, both came back positive, then reinstalled the win7 OS. I havent used the comp today but I was wondering what some of you experts think of this situation? Does this sound like a persistant issue?
Mainly there I've noticed when i turn on the computer now and the LED backlight lighting comes on I can see in the bottom right corner a white patchy blobby whiteness that looks like light coming from the laptop screen. Once the colors in the display seem to start up then it goes away and I cannot see it at all. Its only when the screen first starts up. What does this mean and does it sound like I should get it replaced asap.
HP tech support is not really that informative.
Thank you

This is the laptop i ended up buying when the price was still $499. Also the processor spec is wrong. It actually has the 3510MX 1.8GHz quad core.

Maybe a loose cable? I remember seating the LVDS cable incorrectly on the motherboard and had the same problem as you. It would be more difficult if the cable is incorrectly connected to the LCD side.
The problem is that the warranty might be voided if you make a mistake. I didn't care when I did mine. -
Since you just bought it, return it immediately. The longer you wait to return it the more hassle you'll have to deal with.
What does this mean?
