    What happened to HP nc8430 ?

    HP nc8430 laptop was connected to an external monitor, until one day the image on the monitor no longer displays, a place for a couple seconds to appear and vanish, and now all is lost and the image on the monitor of the laptop ... There is nothing but windows is loaded and the sound is. Say it is evidence that the video card died or something simpler?

    Yes, likely the video card is dead. Only way to fix that, is to get a new motherboard. You can search eBay for one.

    I'll second the broken GPU but try to reseat the SODIMMs first.

    I vaguely remember reading that nc8430 had some issue with RAM chips moving a bit, causing black screen. At least it's free to try :)
