The HP coupon page stated that the $400 offer was due to expire October 20th.

I was ready to pull the trigger on a DV5T tonight -- now they're gone and the site says it expired!!

    Tell me that doesnt stink.

They were used up, it was a 1700 use coupon. There will be more either this week or next I am sure.

There will probably be updated coupons in the next day or two, who knows maybe another $500 or 30% will pop up.

    God I hope so...

If it does I'll definitely get the 18t fully loaded to my specs.

I MIGHT get a 16t (hopefully they'll at least have a 4G option by then too) and have that sent just so I can decide what's the perfect size for me.

And I'll definitely be getting 2 day shipping since I've wanted this laptop since last week...lol.

Just use the 20% Live cashback if there are no HDX coupons.

Also, even with 2 day shipping, it will still take about 12 days for it to arrive.

I don't like that 60 day thing you mentioned. I'd rather wait and get my discount upfront personally.

And my experience with the 2 Day shipping has been good. It came exactly in 2 days...

However when I used normal shipping it definitely varied. One time it was really short. The next really long.

I mean, it will take them 10 days before they even ship it out if it's customized, so getting it 3 days earlier (12 days vs 15 days with regular shipping) with 2 day shipping isn't a big difference at all.

CassilineKnight, as stated before, you should not even pay for the faster shipping. Usually you get it within 2-3 days of the estimated ship date... the ship date won't be 2 days earlier.

And, i doubt there will be coupons for HDX16t/HDX18t soon, or for any new ones it seems. Only the 500$ one about 2 weeks ago were you able to use it for the HDX16t. It seemed it was a mistake, as we're many of the HDX16t prices. Anyone who got it early was lucky as they saved more than 750$ if you maxed it out.

And why not just buy your own ram if you want the HDX16t ?

And Zod. 20% cashback? Isn't it just 5% for hp?

Most of the HPs are listed as 50% off ("Use code no coupon code needed to save 50% off this product (must configure price above $400.00 to get discount") but they're not showing up as that much off, and are showing up higher than yesterday with the codes... so... eh?

I was thinking the very same thing. It looks like it more like 50% off the base price, not the total with upgrades.

Base prices are lower, but the CPU's are slower.
By the time you configure minimally with P7350 and the 250G HDD that was once "free" you are back up to the same price as before this recent 50% "sale".

The best deals are with the coupons. I've purchased 3 DV5t's in the past 2.5 months. The first I bought in late July and received it around mid August. I just ordered 2 more about 1.5 weeks ago.
The first one I used the APP discount plus the 5% coupon. The price shipped, which included 7% tax, was about $758.

The 2 I just ordered were slightly different. The one for me is:
    32 bit Vista
    2.26Ghz
    2GB ram
    250G HDD
    1680x1050, no infinity
    9200M GS card
    N-wireless
    webcam
    high cap 6 cell batt.
My delivered price, including 7% tax, is $833.

Compared to the previous DV5t, my upgraded setup is a steal.
I also ordered a second DV5t optioned just like the first one, except I added the high cap battery. Price is over $100 less than the first AND it has the upgraded, costlier, Hi cap battery.

I got the deal with the coupon before the NB4113. I think it was NB2390.

Also, I'm pissed that HP added the 12 cell battery just a few days after I purchased 2 more DV5t's. I tried to get them to add the 12 cell to both new DV5's, which should only cost about $20 more each. However, they said they can't do it. I can cancel wait for my new laptops to come in, then send them back, and then order new ones with the higher cap battery.
However, the prices are now higher.

It's BS that HP does that. It can't be that hard to simply swap the batteries out. I would even be willing to send back the new 6 cell batteries, and pay the extra $20 per battery upcharge and shipping. But HP makes it too difficult to do something so simply.
    I've bought 3 DV5t's so far, and I'm looking at another DV5t and a TX2500.
I've recommending these DV5's to family and getting some good business to HP. And still they couldn't do that for me.
They did give me some credit and expect me to buy the 12 cell from HP.
But, the price is about $115 per battery! My credit doesn't even pay for one battery, let alone 2 that I need.
    ARGH!

Like the computers, don't like the service, completely.

^^^^^^^^^^^^I feel your pain about the battery. I just convinced my mom to buy a dv5t and she got an excellent deal on it with $400 off yet they only had the 6 Cell option which is killing me now.

If they had had the 12 cell option I would definitely have gotten that. I mean it would basically double the life of the battery right?

Right now it seems like the dv5t gets about 2.5 hours when fully charged. Which I guess is okay but I wish it were longer

Battery alone is $150, so 100 bux more technically, but you end up with 2 batteries then, not a bad deal if you used a 500 or 400 coupon :)
