What is FastS4_OverrideBiosS4 and is it keeping my mouse from waking the computer?

I have two HDX18's and on neither one can I wake the computer from the mouse or external keyboard. They have no power management tab. On the USB root hubs' power management tab "allow this device to wake the computer" is greyed out. HP tech in Canada think they ought to be able to wake the computer and I shipped one off to repair. They just reimaged and returned I think. The second had two hard drives in a period of only a few months plus a new system board. Same problem. I myself talked to the head of repair about this and he was stumped.

In the registry under usb there is a Dword named FastS4_OverrideBiosS4 with a value 1 in the USB key, which I'd think would nullify the Microsoft advice I've seen to add "USBBIOSx"=DWORD:00000000 I have found only one post in all my Googling about this Dword. He said he would delete it and it would come back next boot. That he put the usbiosx Dword value zero in also to no effect.

The heck of it is I used to wake with the mouse. Seems to me they must have done something in one of the BIOS updates and deliberately.

If so anyone know which BIOS did it, where I can download the one before it, and what I will be losing by moving to the older BIOS.

    PLEASE help me with this.
