What exactly does the "HP WMI Interface" service actually do??

    It is associated with hpqwmi.exe

It did some searching on google but the only thing I found it should not be terminated but it doesen't tells why.

    Anybody has any clues??

You could look up some of the Microsoft whitepapers on WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) if you like, but the short answer on HP laptops is that it is a helper service for hardware/software communication. For example: If you disable the service and try to run Wireless assistant you'll notice that it won't work properly and that it won't reflect state changes made in the device manager. If you don't use any of the included notebook-specific HP software you can safely disable it, or if you use them once in a while but have disabled them at startup, set it to manual.
