Hi .. i'm new here and wanna know what's the pre-installed vista? It comes with the laptop without any installation cd? How if i want to format my vista, will it effect my laptop?

The pre-installed Vista on your laptop includes all of the HP applications and a bunch of trial/starter programs. You can make your own Recovery discs to reinstall Vista in the event of serious problems, but it will be reinstalled with all of the factory bloatware as when new.
If you want to install a clean version of Vista, you will need to find an actual Microsoft Windows Vista disc. HP will not send those, only Recovery discs.
Check out Orev's installation guide at the top of this forum for more info..... -
Adding to what R4000 mentioned, HP laptops come with a partition on the hard disk which you can use to restore the system back to factory. Alternatively, they also allow you to burn one set of restore DVD's which just like the recovery partition are capable of restoring the system back to default factory state. In addition to this HP also sell the recovery discs for US$16, these are essentially the same as the DVD's you burnt, so not recommended unless you lose/misplace the DVD's you burnt.

Pre-installed means exactly what it says. You make your own restore discs off of a restore partition.

Well technically it means "Vista installed before."
What is pre-installed vista?
